I have pleurisy. Now that the pain's gone, it doesn't bother me at all and I get to feel Victorian for having a virus with a cool name.

It's April, and that means NaPoWriMo. NaPoWriMo is the poetry enthusiast's answer to NaNoWriMo, except instead of writing a novel in thirty days, one writes a poem every day for all of April (April *is* the cruelist month, after all). The rushed time frame means the poems will likely not be of the highest quality, but that's what May's for--editing and revision.
Anyone wanting to play better get in now while it's still realistic to catch up. Got writer's block? Bad at poetry? Grab a book of poetry--tons of inspiration and exciting techniques.

Today had to get up early. Bad thing. But actually got up and didn't skip. Good thing. I made the bus. Good thing. But forgot my backpack, and didn't have time to walk home and get it. Bad thing. And missed my bus stop and had to walk three-quarters of a mile in the rain to get to class. Bad thing. And then barely understood a word in class. Bad thing. And I have a test Monday. Bad thing. The food places were out of good chips at lunch. Bad thing. My paper for my other class I turned in late because I had forgotten my backpack (see above). Bad thing. The rain turned to hail. Neutral thing. The hail turned to snow, even though it was so hot it was like summer yesterday. Still, good thing x 2. Except my feet got wet. Bad thing. I couldn't get online and talk to friends. Bad thing. I had a good talk with my roommate, though. Good thing. I had cheese and crackers. Good thing. Mentos now have cherry flavor, so I bought a box of fruit flavored ones. Good thing. The cherry flavor is repulsive. Bad thing. I missed seeing House tonight. Bad thing x 2. New episode of Ugly Betty on abc.com. Good thing.
Hurry up and even out, day.
Also, I do recommend Amazing Grace even though the first scene is superfluous and manipulative. They make lots of references to books, etc. from the period, which is amusing to catch. I feel like a nerd for seeing a historical inaccuracy, though.

So, I was messing about on The Internet and had the TV on to listen to. The show was on the Discovery Channel, and I wasn't paying much attention until the narrator started talking about how the show would be about symbols, their history, and how they're made. I started getting really excited, because I *love* this kind of thing, and then I looked over at the TV.
It wasn't a show about symbols, it was a show about cymbals.
Well, BREAK MY HEART Discovery Channel.
